Terms Of Business

Thank you for your contact with Fitzpatrick Morris Financial Services Limited, in relation to the financial services we offer. The following document sets some important points for you as a new client of the firm.

Fitzpatrick Morris Financial Services Ltd, trading as investwise.ie, is an independent intermediary, which is in a position to place your business with leading insurers, lenders and other investment product providers. This firm does not have "tied" relationships with any institution that would compromise our ability to offer you independent advice and choice.Fitzpatrick Morris Financial Services Ltd. arranges and provides advice in relation to all classes of life assurance, pensions, investments and mortgages.

Consumer Protection
Fitzpatrick Morris Financial Services Ltd. is regulated by the Financial Regulator as a Multi Agency Intermediary and as a Mortgage Intermediary pursuant to the Investment Intermediaries Act, 1995 and the Insurance Act 2000 to provide insurance and investment services. A copy of our statement of authorised status is attached.

*Investor Compensation Company Ltd. (ICCL)
This firm is a member of the investor compensation scheme established under the Investor Compensation Act, 1998.  This legislation provides for the establishment of a compensation scheme and to the payment, in certain circumstances, of compensation to clients of firms covered by the Act.  However, you should be aware that a right to compensation will only arise where money or investment instruments held by this firm on your behalf cannot be returned either for the time being or for in the foreseeable future and where the client falls within the definition of eligible investor as contained in that Act.  In the event that a right to compensation is established, the amount payable is the lesser of 90 per cent of your loss which is recognised as being eligible for compensation or EUR 20,000”.

Fitzpatrick Morris Financial Services Ltd. is remunerated by commission for the provision of advice regarding life policies, investments, pensions and mortgages etc. Work can also be carried out on a fee basis. All commissions or fees will be disclosed in the policy documentation, and it is the policy of the firm to offer transparency in charging and commissions at all times.

Handling Clients' Money

Fitzpatrick Morris Financial Services Ltd will accept payments in cash and by cheque in respect of all classes of insurance in the circumstances permitted under Section 25G of the Investment Intermediaries Act, 1995.

Fitzpatrick Morris Financial Services Ltd is not authorised to accept cash or negotiable instruments in any other circumstances.

 

 

Receipts
Fitzpatrick Morris Financial Services Ltd shall issue a receipt for each non-negotiable or negotiable instrument or payment received. This is required pursuant to Section 30 of the "Investment Intermediaries Act, 1995".  These are issued with your protection in mind and should be stored safely.

Product Producer Appointments.

Fitzpatrick Morris Financial Services Limited holds letters of appointment with the following Life Assurance Companies.

Irish Life, Hibernian, Friends First, Eagle Star, New Ireland, Scottish Provident, Standard Life, Caledonian Life and Canada Life.

The Firm also holds letters of appointment with Howth Financial Services Limited and PIBA Mortgages Services Limited. We currently use PIBA (Professional Insurance Brokers Association) Mortgage Services to provide mortgages services to our clients. This is a mortgage network used by a number of brokers as a central packaging agency for mortgage applications. Further information on PIBA Mortgage Services can be found at www.pibamortgage.ie.

Complaints
If you have any complaints regarding the service you have received from any member of staff, please contact Mr. David Quinn, Managing Director.  If satisfaction is not reached thereafter regarding the complaint, or your complaint is not resolved within 4 months, you are entitled to refer your complaint to the Financial Services Ombudsman. You can contact the Ombudsman at www.financialombudsman.ie, or Lo-Call 1890 88 20 90.

These Terms of Business will apply until further notice. 11th November 2009.
